Origen of our coffee beans





Lote 57 was born in Brasil with the aim of mediating concept flavors, ideas. Through the constant search we are able to obtain raw material from suppliers who are struggling for the cultural and historical recognition of coffee and cocoa production and are stablished according to new cooperations of traditional communities, whose small farmers seek space and recognition in the national and international coffee and chocolate market. We count on the participation of these small farmers to promote our product line with the objective of winning over our customers through respect for natural life and the well-being of those who work in these crops.

Here our journey of discovery began. A world apart. Nowadays we get up go to a supermarket and buy strawberries, chocolate, coffee, cinnamon, tea,packed and ready to consume. For me its a miracle of life. It is not the same at the farms that

I´ve visited, they wake up at 4 am everyday. The market is usually very far away. They pick up their tools and start the day. Cleaning, fertilizing.. the land, wait to grow and pray to be the best harvest and who knows this year will get better prices for your products. And finally when they are ready for the big moment. The price paid for their products just cover what they spent. And what supposed to be profitable and bring a quality of life, end in another sad harvest. Our work begins here, to bring awareness to those farmers. For the small brazilian farmers it´s really hard to compete cause they don´t have volume. We show them although they don´t produce big quantities they can focus on quality and the possibility to earn twice as much by selling to markets that care about quality. In partnership, we internationalize their products thus achieving better sales price and bringing back the enthusiasm that it is worth planting and staying in the field..




What´s the meaning of our logo





I chose the eagle as a symbol of this journey because of its meaning in my life and thinking about its characteristicshas helped me to grow in life. With its strength, courage, wisdom, sharp vision, intuition and creation. I learned that life seems different from an aerial perspective. We need to take a new look at the challenges in our lives. One of the lessons to be learned from the eagle is not to depend exclusively on intellectual solutions, but rather to become independent through actions to bring them to the concrete field of achievements. The eagle´s vision is 8 times more powerful than ours, allowing the eagle to see miles away. Its vision that taught me to take a step back and see the bigger picture. It is necessary to look the past and the present objectively while planting the future. The eagle teach us to courageously face our fear of the unknown and we will be able to fly as high as the joy of our dreams can take us. To fly like an eagle it needs to be cautions about being confident and trusting in our abilities.

Soft and hard are used terms to classify the coffee. In the test when the cup of coffee is classified Soft. It means that the grain was harvested in time and all post-harvest procedure were strictly followed. The taste is pleasant, balanced, with clear sensory notes.

The coffee considered hard has an acrid, astringent and rough-flavor but does not unpleasant tastes. ​

Eu me confesso todos os dias!





Sinônimo de poder, esse pequeno fruto da cor do ouro conhecido como Cacau, tem sido há séculos soberano. Já tentaram destroná-lo de inúmeras maneiras mas nem a doença chamada vassoura de bruxa conseguiu tirar seu brilho. Filha de um Ilheense autêntico, eu passava minhas férias em Ilhéus, cidade natal de meu pai. E foi lá que tive meu primeiro contato com o fruto dos Deuses, na fazenda de meu tio Vuca assim era chamado carinhosamente o irmão de meu pai, um dos tios mais loucos que alguém poderia ter, e eu tive essa sorte. Seu nome Ivo, casado com Dona Teresa, uma mulher de gênio forte, altiva eram os donos de uma promissora fazenda de cacau. E foi participando do dia a dia deles que aprendi que quem tem Cacau, manda!

Quem produzia cacau era Rei. Era visto pela sociedade como pessoas importantes, de grande estima, ricos e bem-sucedidos. Podiam ter tudo que sonhavam, bastavam algumas sacas para comprar o carro dos sonhos, a casa, enviar os filhos as melhores escolas, ter um médico que vinha a sua casa quando precisassem. Todos sonhavam em ser cacauicultores, que um dia já foram conhecidos como Coronéis. Homens fortes e implacáveis que brigaram por cada metro quadrado de terra. Usaram da astúcia, da força, para construir o seu legado. E fizeram da cidade de Ilhéus a Terra do ouro amarelo, ouro que brotava em árvores. Ilhéus hoje é conhecida mundialmente como a Terra do chocolate. Recebendo anualmente visitantes de todo o globo. E foi em Ilhéus, que descobri a delicia de pecar. Quando meu pai se aposentou da Marinha, ele decidiu que iriamos viver em Ilhéus, e sua decisão mudou meu destino. Nos mudamos do Rio de Janeiro quando eu tinha 13 anos. E assim começa a minha história pecaminosa.
